Careers At The Crisis Center

Since 1972, the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay has been committed to bringing help, hope and healing to people facing serious life challenges. What we do and how we do it has changed dramatically over the years—and it will continue to evolve—but there is one thing that has never changed: the extraordinary dedication of Crisis Center volunteers, donors, and staff.

Help us Provide Help, Hope, and Healing to our Community!

The Crisis Center could not support the community to the extent that it does without the support of volunteers. There are a variety of opportunities with varying requirements, time commitments, and client interaction available.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, all volunteer and intern positions require a Level II background/fingerprinting check. The cost is $90 and is the financial responsibility of the volunteer/intern applicant. This fee will be reimbursed upon completion of 96 hours of services.

Travelers Aid Volunteer

Stationed at Tampa International Airport, these volunteers answer questions about the airport, provide maps and brochures for area attractions as well as print flight or bus schedules. They provide emergency food assistance and personal items to those in need. They assist families and individuals who are stranded and disconnected from their support systems. They work hand-in-hand with the airport chaplains as well as the Case Managers at the Crisis Center. They also provide mail service with stamps for the US and overseas, and pack and ship items not allowed through security.
